Boat series
This series came about by my need to experiment and to challenge myself by using different technique of painting in oils, and different source of inspiration.
Few years ago, after living in London for many years, I relocated to Folkestone, a town on the South East coast. For two years I have been living in a small house next to the working harbour and every day I looked at the fishing boats.
In my search for a new way of building the multi layered painting, the boats are just a starting point.
Here I started by gluing random pieces of vintage fabric to the canvas. Then, using sponges and cut up credit cards, I applied many layers of liquid paint.
I found the process of painting this series quite liberating and the usage of the cut up credit cards - quite symbolic.
